Dr Peters regularly gives continuing education lectures to physicians on current headache treatment. In December, 2005, he has addressed primary care physicians and neurologists in San Jose and Union City on recent migraine treatment advances.
Recent medical research: An article published in the September, 2005, Headache showed that adding and NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) such as naproxen to sumatriptan improved the overall benefits and was well tolerated. Another study published in the same journal showed that toperamate (a recently improved preventive medication for migraine at a dose of 100 mg a day was shown to be effective and significantly improved the health-related quality of life.
